Class Description
Welcome to our Golden Poppy Parent Child Class!
Hello Families! I love golden sunshine, magical forests and joyful meadows. All of nature has a feeling like a wonderful secret waiting to be found. It is in this feeling that I live and thrive, and I love to bring this feeling to the children! A world of wonder, goodness and beauty. It can be found not only in forests, meadows, streams and nature but everywhere you look. And it is good even for us to keep finding it when the world seems so lost in strife. Along with a nurturing daily and seasonal rhythm, we will find this wonder, magic and beauty wherever we go over the course of our year together ~ and we will have help from some special little friends!
Our Golden Poppy Parent Child class is geared toward supporting and educating the parent. The child can help and will generally want to be with and imitate the parent in all life’s activities including those in our class! Later, when the children go to Kindergarten, the class will be geared toward them, though the parent will naturally still need to help out too~
In our time together in our Golden Poppy class you will get our Weekly Guide which is a lesson plan that will include the following elements:
~Seasonal Circle Video that includes finger plays, songs, verses and parent/child lap games that integrate nourishing developmental movement and repetition for the young child.

~Movement game PDF
~Lullaby Audio
~Handwork or craft PDF
~Nature Spy Video
~A flexible rotation of painting, drawing and beeswax modeling
~Daily, weekly and seasonal rhythm guidance including information on Festivals and birthdays
~Meditation
~Recipe PDF
~Book Club Chapters or Article on Early Childhood and/or Waldorf Pedagogy
These different elements of our Weekly Guide will be brought to you through the portal as videos, audio files, captioned photos, pdfs or articles.
Weekly Village Gathering at 12:30pm PST on Wednesdays - For our weekly Zoom, we will come together in a supportive environment along with families in our Cottage Rose Kindergarten. First we’ll have a general check-in and then I will present a topic from a recent article or chapter in our Book Club where we can discuss, share and ask questions about the reading, upcoming Festivals and anything relating to our Weekly Guide. This is a wonderful time of community building and support, so hopefully you can all join in!
Of course, at any time, the children are welcome to pop-in and say hi and maybe show us a favorite toy or art or handwork.
