Class Description

Middle School (Classes 5-8): These middle school years are referred to as "The Bridge Years," which the children move from a land of imitation to the world of autonomy. We begin that shift from feeling into thinking. This year-long class is different from the 8-week block in that we take a look at the therapeutic and artistic styles of Eurythmy-Inspired Movement for these grades.

In this class, we will take a deeper look at the letter gestures and what lies within them. We will experience special forms that are specifically made for this age. We will explore tonal movements, learning to move to rhythms and beats, the scale, and the octave. Grammar and syntax movements become an important part of our study as well.  

High School (Classes 9-12): The high school years are a time when "movement begins to take its origins in the space of the soul." As movement shifts deeper and deeper into the child, the soul begins to expand as a 'solar system', moving out larger and larger from its own space, beyond the world, the planets, and into the realm of the stars. This year-long class is different from the 8-week block in that we take a look at the therapeutic and artistic styles of Eurythmy-Inspired Movement for these grades.

In this class, we will expound upon the letter gestures, learning the head and foot positions, as well as the head veils. We will not only discuss the colors but also have a true color experience. We will do an intense study of the elements, various therapeutic exercises, special forms, geometry, and ancient civilizations. We will delve into tonal movements, including the scales, the octave, and major and minor tones and gestures.
